204x_mg_6nppndc1…NPP says had enough of NDC intimidation
…NDC threatens court action over Akwatia results

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has sent out strong signals to the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) that they will not tolerate what they described as threats, intimidation and criminal acts that took place in Akwatia ahead of the parliamentary elections.

According to a founding member of the NPP and former Ambassador to Serbia, Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe, if what characterized the Akwatia elections is what the NDC plans to do in any subsequent elections, then the NDC must be ready for a contest.

Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe who spoke on Citi FM’s(a radio station in Accra) morning show, said the NPP will react vigorously from any act targeted against them by any political party most especially the NDC. He said the time has come for members of the NPP to shed off their coat and tie and meet the NDC boot for boot. He continued that Tuesday’s victory for the NPP is a testimony that Ghanaians have regretted voting the NDC into power.

“The people have spoken. They know exactly what they are in now and have decided to kick against it. However, my main concern is about the various threats and intimidation and the criminal acts that took place in Akwatia,” he said. “If that is what the NDC plans to do in subsequent elections, then they will meet their match. All along we have being sitting down with our hands in-between our thighs but I can tell them now the diplomacy has being thrown out; we are going to be in our boxer shorts and meet them boot for boot”.
touching on the security situation in the country, DR. Tamakloe said the country is not in safe hands and that has made many Ghanaians scared. he cited the security threats in the Akwatia election re-run in, which led to the imposition of the curfew on the area by the Interior Minister, Mr. Cletus Avoka. .

Dr. Tamakloe asked the National Security Advisor Brigadier Nunoo Mensah to work hard to ensure that political agitators do not destroy the country.

“If this country’s future goes up in flames, then I think the souls of the individuals who perish should be placed on the head of the national security advisor, Brig. Nunoo Mensah. I believe strongly he has the experience and the courage to say NO to certain political agitators in this country,” Dr. Tamakloe said. “As I talk now, he has not been doing that and that is disturbing. I want Nunoo Mensah to know that he is handling a very strong, sophisticated and complicated situation and for that matter, he has to use the experience he has acquired and call a spade a spade and stop sitting down to see things go bad”.

Meanwhile reports reaching the Ghanaian Journal.com indicate that the NDC has petitioned the electoral commission about irregularities in four polling stations and has requested a re-run in those polling stations.
