Managers of laundry establishments have been urged to form an association to ensure sustainable development of the industry. Mr Kofi Ankama-Asamoah, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cleaning Solutions Limited, an industrial cleaning organisation, noted that such an association could help liaise with policy makers to setup and enforce standards to enhance their operations.
He expressed worry at the proliferation of sub-standard laundries, noting that this was a disincentive to the hospitality industry as laundry operators play no mean a role in maintaining good hygiene and sanitary conditions in hospitality facilities.
Mr Ankama-Asamoah was addressing the opening session of a day’s Advance Professional Laundry Training seminar for stakeholders in the hospitality and laundry industry in Kumasi.
Topics treated included the wash cycle, procedures in laundry and diversity in washing, different kinds of washing and fabrics and textiles. The CEO said Cleaning Solutions Limited makes training a key part of its services to clients in the hospitality industry as a way of enhancing the highest standards of laundry in a cost effective and professional manner.
He said it would ensure that the image of the country was boosted as tourists expect value for the money in services rendered to them, especially in keeping hospitality facilities in good hygienic conditions.
