Why President Mills Cannot Hear The Cry Of Ghanaians

There is so much meaning in naming a person, that is why each and every human being when born into this world is given a name.
Apart from merely identifying the person among majority of people, giving one a name puts a sort of confidence and trust in him which makes him happy to respond whenever he is called.

When one calls another person by his name, he is expected to respond by saying “yes” or nod the head to show a sign of response. But when there is silence or no sign of nodding the head or raising the hand in response it may be because the person did not hear or that was not his name.
A young Ghanaian energetic handsome man who graduated from one of the country’s universities decided to migrate to London to continue life as he perceived that life back home was very difficult.

He managed to enter London through fraudulent means otherwise termed as connection which made it very difficult to legalize his stay and even obtain a work permit before he could be allowed to work to earn a living in his new destination.

Since he was to strive to develop in his new destination, he adopted other means available to enable him continue to stay and work in the country instead of returning to tell his story of either arrest or deportation. So this gentleman quickly changed his real name to Koo Nsiah in order to avoid all traces that could lead the police to his hideout and get him deported.
He managed to secure a job with that name but unfortunately, his supervisor could not mention his name correctly therefore this supervisor always shouting loud for several minutes before he would realize he was being referred to by the supervisor. On occasion, the supervisor shouted calling him, “Koozie, Koozie, Koozie” instead of Koo Nsiah, and there was no response so he went to inquire from him why he was not responding and here he coined a lie by saying, “sorry my kids problems are worrying me, I was thinking so much and did not hear the call.”

Before becoming the president of the country, a lot of people challenged the process of the swearing-in ceremony where a section of the public condemned his performance and called for a fresh swearing in ceremony.

The president fumbled several times during the swearing-in and at that moment certain words that were spirit filling whiles holding the presidential sword were never properly said to ensure his full spiritual consecretio as the president.
Professor John Evans Atta Mills, after taking the oath of office as president had his name changed from Professor Atta Mills to President Atta Mills. What has become worrying is how the president not hearing his name being called by his supposed subjects who are complaining of certain acts and omissions going on in the country.

Like my mother will ask, “Nti gudun gudun wonte” to wit “is he not hearing the calls to act to stop the seizure of public toilets, government vehicles, locking government officials?

Why is the president not hearing the calls? Is he still seeing himself as Professor Atta Mills or President Mills? He must find meaning in the new name, he has sworn an oath and said that he would respond to every call by his subjects to act to bring comfort into their lives.

Let us give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the misconduct of his foot soldiers is bothering him that is why he is not hearing the calls of the people. Let the president respond to the calls to assure us that he is making a meaning in his name as the president.
