Members of Nkoranza Students Union have organised a two-month remedial and vacation classes for about 120 junior high school and senior high school students at Nkoranza.
Mr Stephen Kwaku Duah, the President of the Union, told the Ghana news Agency at Nkoranza that the exercise was aimed at preparing the JHS students for admission into the SHS.
The exercise will also motivate SHS students to prepare adequately for the impending November/December private Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination.
Mr Duah said the programme would also help to check the students against vandalism, especially on the part of the JHS students who often organized dances and video shows to entertain themselves.
He said the union had plans to organize education forums at Busunya and Nkoranza to educate parents to support their children to pursue higher education.
Outstanding educationists and personalities from Nkoranza would be invited to share their experiences to enable the youth to take their education seriously.
He expressed gratitude to Mr Kwame Amporfo-Twumasi, MP for Nkoranza South and Madam Phillipa Banson, Nkoranza District Director of Education, for their support for the union’s activities.
