Police in Tema are reported to have clashed with some workers of Meridian Port Services there.
The workers were said to be negotiating with management over salary increases when the police came.
Management had promised a 15 per cent increase, something the workers were unhappy about and had vowed to embark on a strike.
The union head, Mr Calson told Joy News’ Bernard Saibu they were surprised the police broke into what was a peaceful demonstration to mete out brutalities to them.
According to him, some of his colleagues have been badly injured, an allegation that is yet to be confirmed.
Attempts are being made to get the side of the police.
