This, she added is in line with the Government’s Better Ghana Programme.
Speaking at a breaking ground ceremony for the construction of “Kempiski Hotel”, Hon. Zita Okaikoi noted that the Kempiski Hotel is the oldest luxury hotel collection in the world and the only truly European luxury hotel group renowned for combining local fair as well as ambience based on international standards of service.
She indicated that the construction of the 5-star 270-room hotel which includes luxury suites and presidential suites will help fill a major gap in the up-market hotel sub-sector.
According to the Minister, the construction of the new hotel will help the tourism sector experience tremendous growth in view of the enabling environment created for investments in the sector.
Hon. Zita Okaikoi echoed that the growing visits to the country by various dignitaries including President Obama and the Crown Prince Naruhito of Japan gave Ghana recognition as a country to visit and do business with.
She reiterated that the political stability the country has enjoyed over 20 years provides security and safety for people to visit and do business in Ghana.
Hon. Zita okaikoi, therefore, commended the management of Gold Coast Resorts Ltd for partnering Zakhem International to mobilize requisite technical and financial resources for the realisation of the project.
