The Diploma in Business Studies Student Association of Ghana (DIBSSAG) Kumasi Polytechnic chapter has appealed to the Minister of Education and the Ghana National Service scheme secretariat to place diploma certificate holders on the scheme after two years studies at the polytechnic level.
This was contained in a press release by the public relations officer of the association Mr Richmond Frimpong.
According to him they play integral role in the economic development of the country by contributing immensely in their field of operation. He lamented that diploma holders are more essential to the country but they have been ignored by the national service scheme.
As a matter of urgency, he is asking the government to intervene to ensure that DBS students in the country also have their share in the national cake.
Mr Richmond Frimpong maintained that their members have quality education with efficient and effective skills to enable them discharge their duties accordingly with less supervision and monitoring.
He therefore urged all and sundry to rally behind the diploma students at the polytechnic level to be placed on the scheme after their course. He also cautioned the students to refrain from immoral behaviour and bad conduct, but should resort to work hard.
