LUANDA, Angola — Substitute Mohamed Gedo scored in the 85th minute Sunday to help Egypt beat Ghana 1-0 and secure its third straight title at the African Cup of Nations.
Tournament debutant Gedo curled in a shot from within the area to give Egypt its record seventh title.
World Cup qualifier Ghana had been hoping to earn its first continental crown since 1982.
