Asante Kotoko says they will resist any attempt by the country’s national security apparatus to arrest goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye for his altercation with a security personnel last Sunday.
The Burkinabe goalie punched a man identified to be a member of the Bureau of National Investigations after the Hearts-Kotoko match at the Ohene Djan Stadium.
The National Security apparatus have declared their intention to arrest the Kotoko captain for questioning following the incident.
But the club’s Public Relations Officer, Ali Maradona insists they will oppose any attempt the security agencies to harass their stopper. “We don’t have any problem with the BNI calling Soulemana for questioning but if the right procedure is not followed then we will face them squarely,” he told Peace FM.
“Soulema was rather trying to bring peace after the scuffle had broke out and it today he is seen as the villain the it is unfortunate.
“We are a law abiding club and will not do anything contrary what the law says, but we will not allow the national security to arrest the goalkeeper at our training grounds and the supporters will rise up against them. The proper thing must be done.”
