Ghana captain Stephen Appiah must obtain a new Italian work permit before he is able to play for the Serie A side Bologna.
Bologna were keen to use the Ghanaian in their league matchthis weekend against Palermo after he excelled in his two days of training
The Serie A side will have to receive his InternationalTransfer Certificate (ITC) from the Turkish Football Federation before hereturns to the pitch.
But if his former club Fenerbahce oppose his move, Bolognaofficials will apply for Fifa to a temporal ITC to enable the Ghanaian play.
This means Appiah debut for the club has been delayed untilall these requirements are met by Bologna.
The good news is that Fenerbahce can facilitate the movewithin five days and he can obtain his permit in Accra by next week when hearrives for the World Cup qualifier.
But in the worse case scenario he has to wait for about twomonths for Fifa to clear him to play for Bologna if Fenerbahce put up someresistance.
Bologna are delighted with the physical condition of Appiahafter his first day of training and they are keen to rush through hisregistration.
His swift passes and movements has delighted the coach ofthe club who wants him on the pitch to help the struggling club avoidrelegation.
Even though he has not obtained the clearance yet, he willbe able to play in friendly matches for Bologna.
