Italian side Bologna insist they’re not in the mix for free agent Stephen Appiah.

The Ghana captain remains up for grabs after being released by Fenerbahce last season.

Bologna had been linked with Appiah as it was reported that a deal was imminent.

but at yesterday’s unveiling of new coach Franco Colomba, sports director Fabrizio Salvatori said: “Appiah to Bologna? No, I’ve never contacted him.”

Appiah remains on the market and has played to help Ghana qualify for a second successive World Cup.
