Ghana coach Sellas Tetteh has played down the outburst of Captain Dede Ayew after he was substituted in the team 3-2 win over Hungary in the semi-final clash of the Fifa World Youth Championship.

Tetteh replaced his talismanic skipper in the second half but the facial expression by the 18-year-old was that of dissatisfaction.

He claims there is no strained between them and have began planning for Friday’s final against Brazil.

“Yes he came to my room after the game and we talked and I explained things to me that he was let down by the injury which we all want to protect and he apologized if he had hurt me,” Tetteh said.

“He knows I am the boss and I take the decisions on the bench and we hugged each other after dinning and that is it we look ahead to the final. I have been a footballer before and sometimes these things happen.”

Ayew received the knock on his right ankle when he intercepted a back pass by a Hungarian defender inside the box that resulted in Ghana’s opener.

“I met coach and I explained my actions and tomorrow I will clear doubts with my team mates because I’m not above the law in camp and can’t challenge the orders of the captain of the ship. Yes I was angry but because I couldn’t play” Dede told Ghanasoccernet.com

“I got injured on the first goal and at half time I was going to come out. I tried but I couldn’t play and I felt in my leg that it was swollen.

The final is coming up and I want to be 100% fit and not 40% or miss the final. I will to tell all Ghanaians that where we have gotten to nobody will go above the law in camp.”
