Ghana Port Health to inspect vaccination cards

For about eleven years officials of the Ghana Port Health at the Kotoka International Airport have not been inspecting vaccination cards of travellers.

This has placed the nation at a position where its doors are open to all sorts of health risks.

Speaking to Ghana Today’s, Jennifer Addo-Larbi, the Director of Public Health, Dr. Joseph Amankwah admits and explains that, the process was interrupted due to some challenges.

Management, he said is however in consultation with the Airport Company Limited to restore the process.

Government to restructure NHIA

“I urge states to put the necessary legal protections in place, and I urge all partners to help countries develop the capacity and institutions to achieve this objective”, he added.
